A Seasonal Word from Trust Chair Keith Morgan

Seasons greetings to each and every one of you and all those close to you.

These are very difficult and worrying times with no sign of the Covid pandemic coming to an end but, instead, new troubling strains being identified which are likely to take us into a third year of precautions and restrictions impacting on our day-to-day lives.

This is likely to lead to match postponements and possible short-term deferment of the football season unless the situation improves quickly as more and more players (particularly those who still refuse to be vaccinated) are tested positive for Covid.

On the field, at the time of writing this, results and certainly the style of football has improved under new boss Steve Morison. There will undoubtedly be dips in form by some of the youngsters being brought into the team but I personally have no doubt that many of them will develop into very good players at Championship level and play a major part in the development of our club on the field going forward.

This is also reflected in the excellent results being achieved at U23 and U18 levels this season under the overall supervision of David Hughes and with Darren Purse a recent welcome addition to the system as well.

Let`s hope for a better 2022 for us all. In the meantime, enjoy a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.

Keith Morgan, Trust Chair
