Your Trust At Work

Cardiff City’s Curtis Nelson with Trust vice chair David Craig

We wanted to update members with various initiatives which the Trust board has supported.

  • The Trust has funded an initiative to the tune of £720 to provide a concrete base and drainage at the Memorial Gardens, which is situated next to the old Ninian Park gates. It is dedicated to the memory of fans that have passed away and is maintained by volunteers who are all military veterans. The Trust played a key role in the establishment of the gardens.
  • The board also agreed to fund the £500 cost of providing a minibus and a driver for five members of the Disabled Supporters’ Association (DSA) in wheelchairs and their carers to attend the forthcoming Reading away game.
  • As members will know the Trust organised a well-supported foodbank collection before Christmas (see picture) which helped people in Rhondda, struggling to make ends meet because of the cost-of-living crisis. It is the Trust’s intention to hold another collection before the Luton Town game in April. Donations from that collection will go to foodbanks in Cardiff. We’re pleased to say that we have excellent support for the foodbank initiative from staff and players at Cardiff City.
